Ingredients

* Sliced fresh white bread (¼ inch thick)
* Margarine or butter, melted

Method

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Decrust the slices of white bread. Brush or spread melted margarine or butter on each side. Press each slice into a custard cup, muffin pan, or small pie pan so that the bread forms a cup. Bake for 10-15 minutes until crisp and golden brown.

Variation:
To make Sandwich Cones, decrust sliced white bread. With a rolling pin, roll each slice thin. Spread with soft margarine or butter. Roll each into a cone and secure with a toothpick. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until lightly browned. Remove the picks. Carefully spoon the desired filling - egg, tuna, or salmon salad or perhaps chopped liver - into the cones. To serve attractively, arrange on a serving dish spoke-fashion, with the point of each cone toward the center of the dish. Garnish and serve.
